Instructors and disrespectful schools

So recently a friend of mine decided to go to school for cosmetology. She already does hair but of course wanted to learn more as well as get her certification and maybe one day open her own salon. Isn’t that what everyone want? To do what they love, have the certification to do it and have their own business? She enrolled into The Academy Waukesha, Paul Mitchell Partner School and started soon afterwards. Alright, lets get this show on the road!

Learning how to cut, style, color, etc. you’d think that’s what you’d be doing right? Apparently that wasn’t it. When given free time to practice on their mannequins the stereo was turned up to an uncomfortable level and the music was rather vulgar for the environment that they were in. When asked to turn it down, the instructor refused to lower the volume as well as change the type of music that was playing. The instructor stated that he would not be changing something just for a single student. How much of an ass was this guy?

Not only was the music issue ignored and got worse, instead of learning how to do hair and the other curriculum; skin care, make up, barbering, aromatherapy, nail artistry, sales, and marketing, the instructor decides to teach a dance instead. Sorry, is that what the tuition is going towards? Hell if I wanted to take dance lessons I’d go to a dance instructor, NOT a cosmetologist. If I wanted to listen to music at ear bleeding volumes, I’d go elsewhere.

Pineapple hip_hop class

How many of you have to have it quiet to study? How many of you have to have music playing? If you listen to music while studying, do you have it at ear bleeding volumes? You would think music that loud is distracting to say the least. What are you going to do if you’ve got a client in that chair and the bass booms and it scares you resulting in an unwanted chunk of hair being cut? Then what are you going to do? You can’t glue that hair back on!

When it was brought to the other faculty members and even the individual in charge of The Academy Waukesha, Paul Mitchell Partner School they informed her that they were not going to change anything for her. She was told to deal with it. She was made fun of soon after the issue started and she had said something about it. Really? You’re going to make fun of a student and tell them they have to deal with it instead of assisting them? That is highly unacceptable and I cannot believe any school would do that. What happened to assisting students and helping them along their career path?

Sorry, if you want to be that much of an inconsiderate ass then that’s money you’re losing out on because that shows me that you’re only interested in the tuition money you’re getting from that student. The curriculum doesn’t state anywhere that you’ll learn to dance and listening to high level music. The learning process, “should be fun and everyone’s education should be special.” So that means they can treat a student like crap when they state they have an issue with the class? That’s acceptable?

“When you tour any Paul Mitchell School, everywhere you go you’ll experience a positive learning environment…” Really? They should include how the faculty is disrespectful to students. They even have a teacher training program. That’s awesome! Now how about adding in a courtesy course in there? “Everyone on staff at each beauty school is committed to helping you every step of the way, no matter where your dreams may take you.” Put your money where your mouth is Paul Mitchell. It says a lot when your instructors tell the student to deal with something that is bothering them and hindering their ability to learn and further their career.

Paul Mitchell school of cosmetology, are you interested in the money you’re getting paid from tuition or are you actually interested in helping students further themselves and their dreams? I hope you can clean up your act. You are turning away students when the faculty is that disrespectful and ignorant. The information on your website, pamplets, etc. is false. You aren’t all about the student. If you were, you would assist them in their learning experience like you state on your website. Instead you and your faculty are doing the opposite.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend your school to anyone that is looking to peruse a career in cosmetology. I would tell them to look elsewhere and not give your school a second thought. If you and your faculty can’t be respectful to students then why would I want to attend? I wouldn’t. Maybe your instructors need to go back and take some curtsy classes and clean up their act and learn what they are suppose to be teaching instead of what they don’t have in the planner. You’re there to teach students how to do hair, make up, facials, etc. NOT dances!

Pandora’s Box

Sitting back thinking over the past few years about life’s events. What would have happened if I had done this? What would have happened if I had done that? Would things still be the same or would you have taken a different turn? Is there something major you’d change or just a small change? How many people would you remove or bring into  your life? What relationships would you keep or get rid of?

In sitting here pondering, you realize after a moment that yes, it’s just a what if or I should have. You can’t change anything so just move forward. Keep pushing forward with your life and don’t stop and go backwards. By all means stop and smell the roses. Don’t dwell on things that you can’t change. You can’t do anything about them so move on.

Love Is Pain_624

My heart has been broken multiple times. I’ve been through a very traumatic life so far and I fear it isn’t ever going to end. With the feelings that I have for certain loved ones, I don’t mind them at all because we all have them. We love our family, aside from those that we don’t like at all. Don’t tell me you don’t have any that you don’t love because you know you go to the family gatherings and you mean mug someone the entire time.

Romantic feelings are going. I don’t feel like getting hurt again. I mean come on. How hard is it to be in a relationship with someone now a days? Conflicting personalities, points of view, vocabulary, etc. play a role in our relationships and can ultimately cause relationship issues later on after the “newness” wears off.

Love Signals_602

So I’ve decided not to let those feelings get out and run away. Those romantic feelings are going to be tucked away in my own Pandora’s box. Why? Cause if they’re there, I don’t have to worry about them coming out and causing issues. I remember going there and to the extent of speaking about them. That ended 95% of the time resulting in me being hurt. I’d rather not go through that again.

Feeling a certain way and the opposite not feeling the same does indeed hurt. Especially it hurts when you express your feelings and with their response you feel like you’ve made the biggest mistake in the world. A lot of the time we feel like we have the foot in mouth syndrom after we hit that send button on our phone.

So let’s lock these feelings away and move on. That relationship isn’t going to happen. We aren’t going to have that relationship, nor be at that level again. Those things aren’t going to be said anymore. Those feelings don’t exist anymore. They’ve all gone and things are changing. No need to worry about it. Those things won’t be said again even if I do feel that way again.

If I ever feel that way in the future, you won’t know because I won’t say a thing.

The Past and the Previous

Update:: I recently ran across pictures of my ex and my dog. I have to say that I am surprised. I forgot about all of those pictures. I didn’t think I’d ever see them again. It would be shocking to have those forgotten memories just come flooding back all at once. That is exactly what happened to me.

There are times when I sit back and think about Japan and how awesome it was when I was there. The memories that were created were some happy and some sad, but that happens no matter where you go. At times I do sit back and wonder what would have happened if I had made a different move at a certain spot in time. What would have happened between my ex and I? What would have happened if I had crushed that test? So many what if’s just start running.

I don’t dwell to much on them but I do every now and again kick up the dust and look at those memories that make me smile. Memories of work, where I drove, what I saw, who I spent time with seeing the country, my very first date…

Snuggling in bed with my ex, wow. *sigh* Just sitting here and remembering all the things we use to do makes me smile. I would say that was an awesome relationship. And it all started because I was going to buy his car…turns out he wasn’t selling it but he was investing into something else.

The drives through the mountains when I got to go with him were awesome. Going to the aquarium was amazing as well. Goofing off in the snow with the car I bought him. Making enough noise that his buddy in the dorm room next door couldn’t turn his stereo up loud enough. Buying him roses for no reason at all. Showering him with gifts randomly because I wanted to.

There aren’t any hard feelings or bad thoughts I have about him. Yes I wish things were different but they aren’t. I’m not depressed looking at the pictures or remembering the stuff we did. It actually makes me smile. Yes there were bad times like any other relationship, but we learn and move on from them.

Pet for free

If I could pick a pet, any pet in the world and take it home for free I wouldn’t have to hesitate for a moment on what pet I would take home. I’d bring me home a white siberian tiger cub. Why you ask, because I have always wanted one. One of the main reasons I’ve wanted a white siberian tiger is because I could have him like a guard dog. I mean who’s going to break into my house knowing there is a tiger in there that could take out your throat? I’d also love to have a tiger because no one would mess with me. I could walk down the street without looking over my shoulder and worrying about someone sneaking up behind me. I would be able to go out more because I’d have my “body guard” with me too. A lot of my stress and anxiety would be gone should I be able to have a tiger. I would have to win the lottery though so I could be able to feed him though. Feeding a tiger costs quite a bit. So of course if I had a tiger and won the lottery I’d have a big house and a lot of property so he could run around and play. Another bonus of having a tiger for a pet and get him while he was a cub, I would train him to snuggle with me. My tiger would snuggle with me every night so I’d never run out of snuggles. I’d always have someone there for me. Being able to take home a white siberian tiger cub for free would be awesome. Tigers are expensive! Hopefully the licenses would come with the tiger too. I would be completely ecstatic to be able to take a tiger home for free. I’d be the happiest girl in the world!

Favorite work of Art

My favorite piece of artwork is Vincent van Gogh: Starry Night. I’m not sure why but it has been my favorite piece for a number of reasons. I mean you can’t like something generally without reason. Like I was recently told, you can’t dislike something without reason. Same applies to liking something.

Starry Night for me is meaningful. I take passion and attentiveness from the painting. I also take a lot of other different things from this piece as well. The colors are calming. You aren’t feeling rage when you look at this piece, you feel calm and relaxed. I start visualizing myself in the painting. It’s night time, the moon is shining bright with a cool breeze blowing through the trees. The stars in the sky sparkling brightly as the town slowly goes to sleep around me.

I looked up some information on the painting and was quite surprised. I love learning the back story of things and the back story to this piece was rather interesting. Van Gogh painted Starry Night while in an Asylum at Saint-Remy in 1889.

The aspects will be described below from

  • 1. There is the night sky filled with swirling clouds, stars ablaze with their own luminescence, and a bright crescent moon. Although the features are exaggerated, this is a scene we can all relate to, and also one that most individuals feel comfortable and at ease with. This sky keeps the viewer’s eyes moving about the painting, following the curves and creating a visual dot to dot with the stars. This movement keeps the onlooker involved in the painting while the other factors take hold.
  • 2. Below the rolling hills of the horizon lies a small town. There is a peaceful essence flowing from the structures. Perhaps the cool dark colors and the fiery windows spark memories of our own warm childhood years filled with imagination of what exists in the night and dark starry skies. The center point of the town is the tall steeple of the church, reigning largely over the smaller buildings. This steeple casts down a sense of stability onto the town, and also creates a sense of size and seclusion.
  • 3. To the left of the painting there is a massive dark structure that develops an even greater sense of size and isolation. This structure is magnificent when compared to the scale of other objects in the painting. The curving lines mirror that of the sky and create the sensation of depth in the painting. This structure also allows the viewer to interpret what it is. From a mountain to a leafy bush, the analysis of this formation is wide and full of variety.

Van Gogh’s Starry Night is indeed my favorite work of art.

The Coolest Airport

The coolest airport I’ve been I would have to say would be the airport in Tokyo Japan. There were so many different cultures in just one place it was amazing. You could walk around the airport for quite a while and not get bored either. Or at least I didn’t get bored.

In Tokyos large airport you also have an option to go outside on the observation deck and watch the planes move in and out of the airport as well as the employees moving luggage around, refueling the jet, etc. I was able to take pictures while I was outside and I rather enjoyed it.

Working on an Air Force base first of all I was exposed to jets landing and taking off all the time so it was no bother to me. I loved it. Being able to see the jets land and come in so the passengers could get off the plane and board, it was pretty neat.

Narita International Airport was by far the coolest airport I’ve ever been in. I mean where else can you get a set of acrylic nails for 200$ and a Big Mac for roughly four dollars?
